Hardware used in most Burberry bags or wallets comes in two colors:

- Silver-toned
- Gold-toned

Hardware on a purse or a wallet will be one of these colors and the embossing on the inside leather tab must match the color of the bag and hardware. If the bag have silver-toned hardware, the embossing the on the inside leather tab must also be in silver. Hardware on authentic bags has the word "Burberry" cleanly and sharply engraved. The placement of the words should be perfectly centered. In general, the plaque should have the appearance of an expensive and finely crafted piece. Any indication of shoddy worksmanship on the plaque should raise reservation on the authenticity of the purse.

Some select models of the Nova Check (trim in matte brown leather) Burberry use grey color hardware for the outside and inside plaques as pictured below.

Burberry Embossed Logo

Burberry bags and wallets have the word "Burberry" embossed on the outside as seen below on select models. There should only be "Burberry" or "Burberry - London" embossed on the purses or wallets and nothing else.

Please note that in authentic Burberry goods, the signature plagues are sharply cut or embossed. The edges of the letters are defined and smooth, without any jagged edge. In general, the plaque should have the appearance of an expensive and finely crafted piece. Any indication of shoddy worksmanship on the plaque should raise reservation on the authenticity of the purse.

Burberry interior leather tags have the the words "Burberry - London" embossed in gold or silver.

Behind the leather tab should have Made in Italy and a letter and number sequence. The leather tag in some purses might not have the letter and number sequence behind and that is okay if everything else checked out.

Some models have small metal plaques that are also engraved with the words "Burberry - London".

Burberry Nova Check

The material used in the Nova Check line is PVC (per Burberry) or commonly known as vinyl-coated canvas. It does looks and feels like leather but it is not leather.

Nova check consists of a cream color with light yellow undertone with black vertical and horizontal stripes and pink stripes (in older Nova Check there was more red in the pink stripes). Products in Nova Check are trim in matte smooth black leather (older Nova Check bags were trim in polished sort of glossy black leather).

Burberry Classic Check

The material used in the Classic Check line is PVC (per Burberry) or commonly known as vinyl-coated canvas. It does looks and feels like leather but it is not leather.

Classic check is tan in color with black vertical and horizontal stripes, red stripes and knight insignia. Burberry classic check products are usually trim with matte smooth brown or smooth glossy red leather.

The color of the authentic authenticity card(s) and envelope(s) is very dark purple color. The word "Prada" is embossed on the card in glossy but matching tone.

Prada Zipper Brands

In some purses and cosmetic bags the zippers might be plain and do not have the engraving as pictured above but the zippers should have marking on them that indicates they are from one of the five zipper brands as listed above. Newer bags used mostly metal zippers on the outside and inside. Older bags used plastic zippers on the inside.

Prada purses are made in Italy, no exception. Interior plaques for Prada purses come in a variety of sizes and styles.

Below is a few things about the plaque you will need to know:

- It must be firmly attached to the lining on all sides.
- You should be able to feel a piece of backing material underneath the plaque.
- All four (4) corners have to be rounded.
- The color of the enamel of the plaque must match or be very close to the color of the lining.
- The color on the rim of the plaque (gold or silver) must match the color of the hardware of the purse.

These interior plaques are for the newest and luxury models. The words "Prada" and "Made in Italy" are embossed on a leather tag.

Prada still uses this plaque on their luxury leather-lined models.

Pochettes, evening or smaller purses have these plaques. They are much smaller than the usual interior plaques.

Vintage and older Prada purses have this bigger plaque with with the words "Prada", "Milano" and "Made in Italy".

Comestic pouches use this type of leather tag with the words "Prada" and "Made in Italy" embossed.

A few things you need to know about the logo:

- It should be attached securely on all three corners to the bag.
- If you you run your fingers across the logo, you should be able to feel that the letters and symbols on the logo are slightly raised.
- The color of the enamel on the logo must match or be very close to the color of the purse.
- The logo itself have a nice thickness to it.

Prada has recently brought back the type of logos that is mounted on top of a patch of the same material as the body of the bag.

Prada still uses this logo with the solid rivet heads on many handbags. This style is not yet discontinued.

This logo style had been discontinued by Prada. You can find them on older bags, notice the hollow rivet heads on each corner.

This type of logo is one of the oldest used by Prada. You can tell by the fact that it has a backing of the same material as the purse.
